'Space is a Belonging' is a short public-facing academic film on the relationship between space, belonging, identity, and loss in London's British-Moroccan communities.
The film was directed by Dr Guy Robert Eyre, produced by George Coote, and edited by Jamie Yuan; with special thanks to Souad Talsi MBE, Dr Alyssa Miller, and Dr André Bank. The film conceptualisation was by Sarra Abidi.
The film was funded by the Merian Centre for Advanced Studies in the Maghreb (IFG V Identities and Beliefs) and the Bundesministerium fur Bildung und Forschung (BMBF), and with further financial support from the UKRI Economic and Social Research Council, the Alwaleed Centre for the Study of Islam in the Contemporary World at the University of Edinburgh, and the Gerda Henkel Foundation.
