Antigone’s Law.
This production is an adaptation of Sophocles’ tragedy, Antigone. Presented in modern times and spoken Egyptian, the play depicts the sadness of a whole city in the aftermath of a destructive civil war where a brother killed his brother, and the curse on the house of Oedipus continues to his children. The tragedy is depicted from the point of view of Antigone and the women of Thebes as they mourn the dead and debate issues such as state versus family and civil disobedience versus love of country.
